Friesland (M33) is a classic true-breeding strain, apparently of Hindu Kush origin.
The Kumaoni and Johaar are pure traditional landraces from the Kumaon Himalaya, where they’re cultivated for fibre, seed, and charas production. The Kumaoni seeds are ex-stock and approximately 75% viable, but are producing very vigorous plants.
The photo shows the Friesland outdoors on 7th September at 56°N. It’s a superb hardy, early maturing strain for outdoors at high latitudes.
